Fridge Magnets for Nine Elms (2018)

Fridge Magnets for Nine Elms is a language game developed for Nine Elms - an area in London undergoing major building development and prolific property speculation. In the form of the familiar word poetry fridge magnets game, I use adjectives taken from sales websites about properties in Nine Elms, alongside nouns specific to the area. I then intersperse them with words inspired by Richard Serra’s 1967 – 68 work verblist. The words can be used to create new imaginations and critiques of the area and the development. 200 sets of magnets were printed to be given out to resident in the local area.
